Experience
The purpose of the interactive experiences
Interactive experiences organized by the partner cities aim to let citizens rediscover the cultural heritage and the shared common history of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
Citizens and tourists are in this way incited to visit the cities of the Euregio with
a renewed interest and to experience the stories of this territory thanks to the newest technologies in 3D-scanning, and in Augmented and Virtual Reality.
The cities mentioned below will implement specific interactive experiences over the course of the Terra Mosana-project.
Discover the Euregio
If you travel through the Euregio, don’t hesitate in stopping by those wonderful cities and discover our history thanks to innovative on site experiences.
Please note that these activities are in development and will be open to the public in 2021.
Tongeren
Tongeren’s participation is going to be a 3D-reconstruction of the Basilica Of Our Lady and the Roman and Merovingian city through the six phases of urbanization. A “flight-through” film will also show other phases of the urban development of Tongeren.Leopoldsburg
The municipality of Leopoldsburg is working on “Project Ijzer”, an interactive storytelling of the European liberation during the Second World War in the context of the Euregio Meuse Rhine. An experience through the eyes of soldiers and civilians who lived through it.Jülich
The upcoming experience intends to show the history of Jülich and its citadel through ages, from the Roman Iuliacum to its modern development of today, thanks to 3D-reconstructions.Aachen
Films, exhibitions, and historical narratives around the city of Charlemagne and the Euregio will be devised. They will be also the basis for other didadict programs.Liège
Two experiences have to be discovered in Liège. The city of Liege and the University of Liège will propose a 3D-digitalisation of the Saint-Lambert cathedral and the old town of Liège. A reproduction in stone will be installed and can be explored thanks to AR-technology. Beside, Virtual Reality allows visitors to explore the Place Saint-Lambert through the ages. How to travel between the partner cities ?
